Hello, I’m Lou.
I’m a white, multi-ethnic queer femme (pronouns they/them). I am also a witchy, left-handed neurodivergent person with lived experience of CPTSD, OCD and a chronic pain condition. I come from a working class family, was a child of teenage parents, and am a first generation college graduate. I grew up in Southern California and currently live in Santa Cruz with my partner, our dog & cat.
My values align with disability justice, the neurodiversity movement, abolitionism, environmental justice, anti-capitalism, and liberation psychology. I am a climate-aware therapist who acknowledges the validity of distress related to the climate crisis. I’m not one of those people who think therapy is going to fix the world or that ‘everyone should be in therapy.’ That said, I do think that the process of therapy has the potential to be lifesaving and lifechanging. Therapy has been & continues to be a huge support in my own life.
I like to spend my time crafting and making art. I enjoy watching cartoons & comfort shows, reading non-fiction books or cozy mysteries and snuggling with my dog. I love hiking, camping, backpacking and doing activities to connect with the seasons (placing items on my altar & planning/attending rituals). Rocking/swinging is my stim of choice & I wish I had my own personal roller coaster that I could ride whenever I want!
